About Me
I'm Mike Rotenberg, B'Mitzvah Coach & Jewish Sherpa.
I've spent decades preparing kids for their bar and bat mitzvahs.
Over the last ten years, I've also expanded to work with younger students seeking Jewish education as an alternative to traditional Hebrew school.
But whether it's bar mitzvah prep or ongoing Jewish learning, my mission is the same: help kids discover they belong to the Jewish people.
Passionate Jewish Education
I connect with kids in a way that brings out their best.
I love what I teach, and I genuinely care about each child and how they're learning. That passion is contagious — kids feel it, and it transforms how they engage with Judaism.
Even kids who struggle to connect with most people light up in our lessons.
My Story
I was raised in a modern Orthodox tradition and received a strong Jewish education. About fifteen to twenty years ago, I began appreciating the diversity within the Jewish community in a deeper way.
I started working with families from all backgrounds — Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, secular, interfaith — and I realized something beautiful: there's room for everyone in Judaism. That's why I meet every family exactly where they are, without judgment. Your family doesn't need to look like mine or practice the way I do.
I was adopted into a small family, and that experience shaped how I see community and belonging. I feel deeply connected to the Jewish people — they are my family. I want every child I work with to feel that same sense of belonging to something ancient, global, and alive.
“Our children gained a tremendous understanding of their Jewish faith and developed a genuine connection to their heritage. Watching them confidently lead their services with such knowledge, pride, and authenticity was incredibly moving.
