About Me
I'm Mike Rotenberg, B'Mitzvah Coach & Jewish Sherpa.
I've spent decades preparing kids for their bar and bat mitzvahs.
Over the last ten years, I've also expanded to work with younger students seeking Jewish education as an alternative to traditional Hebrew school.
It is also one of my great joys to do all sorts of experiential Jewish education for folks of any age; leading Friday night Shabbat meals for your extended family, hosting engaging Passover seders, or throwing a meaningful community Simchat Torah dance party! Whatever you need, I’m here for it.
But whether it's bar mitzvah prep or ongoing Jewish learning, my mission is the same: help people of all ages discover that they belong to the Jewish people.

I love what I teach, and I genuinely care about each child and how they're learning. That passion is contagious — kids feel it, and it transforms how they engage with Judaism.
Even kids who struggle to connect with most people light up in our lessons.
My Story
I was raised in a modern Orthodox tradition and received a strong Jewish education. About fifteen to twenty years ago, I began appreciating the diversity within the Jewish community in a deeper way.
I started working with families from all backgrounds — Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, secular, interfaith — and I realized something beautiful: there's room for everyone in Judaism. That's why I meet every family exactly where they are, without judgment. Your family doesn't need to look like mine or practice the way I do.
I was adopted into a small family, and that experience shaped how I see community and belonging. I feel deeply connected to the Jewish people — they are my family. I want every child I work with to feel that same sense of belonging to something ancient, global, and alive.
